What ChatGPT Needs to Know About Your Business
If you’ve ever opened ChatGPT, typed a prompt, and thought, “This doesn’t sound like me,” you’re not alone. That disconnect usually starts with one missing piece: context.
In this episode, I’m walking you through Step One of my Pre-Bake the Oven method—the foundation that helps ChatGPT actually understand who you are and what you do, so every future response feels more aligned, more authentic, and more useful.
You’ll learn:
- Why ChatGPT isn’t “broken”—it’s just undertrained
- What details to give ChatGPT so it knows your business
- How to create a reusable business intro that saves time and improves results
Whether you’re a creative entrepreneur, small business owner, or totally new to AI, this is where you start.

[00:00:00] Have you ever opened ChatGPT typed in a prompt and thought, this doesn't sound like me or my business?
Maybe you've even said, this just isn't going to work for me. I'm gonna be honest with you. I hear that all the time, and I promise you it can work. The problem isn't you. And it's not ChatGPT, it just hasn't been trained yet.
By the end of this, you'll know exactly how to start using ChatGPT, the right way, so it actually understands your business, your goals, and the way you communicate. This isn't about doing more work, it's about making your marketing easier, faster, and way more effective.
Welcome to AI Simplified the podcast for entrepreneurs, creators, and small business owners who [00:01:00] want practical stress-free ways to use AI in their content and marketing. I'm Kristina Stubblefield, digital marketing strategist and creator of the Pre-Baked the Oven Method. Let's simplify AI so you can create faster, show up consistently, and feel confident in your content.
before we dive in, I want to encourage you to grab the free Pre-Bake the Oven worksheet that I've put together for you.
It walks you through the first step in just a few minutes so you can follow along and, and get your setup done right the first time
I refer to this Pre-Baking the Oven method because small business owners and entrepreneurs keep saying over and over again, I tried ChatGPT, and it doesn't sound like me. I get it. You're already stretched thin. You don't need one more thing on [00:02:00] your plate that feels like a time suck, but I'm here to tell you when you take just a few minutes, a few minutes, that's all to set up ChatGPT the right way.
It starts writing with you, not just at you.
I've seen it over and over. Once someone stops expecting AI to magically know them and instead teaches it who they are. Everything changes. The content gets better, the process gets faster, and the overwhelm, well, it disappears. So can I be real for a moment? ChatGPT, it's just a tool.
It's powerful. Yes, absolutely. But without the right setup. It's like singing Happy Birthday without knowing who you're actually singing it [00:03:00] to. Of course, it feels generic, and the results will too.
The first step, please help ChatGPT understand the foundation of your business. Now, here's what you want to include.
Your business name, your location. Where are you or are you online? And this may even be your service areas. What type of business do you have? Is it a marketing agency? Is it a dry cleaning business? Is it a carpet cleaning business? Are you in the wedding industry? Make sure it knows what type of business you have.
How long have you been in business? Share with it, how long you've been in operation. And then you want to share with it your unique selling proposition. Now, don't overcomplicate this. What makes your business stand out? Why should [00:04:00] customers choose you over your competitors? Think of this like handing ChatGPT your business's welcome packet.
It's not fluff. The foundation, everything else we'll build on. So let me give you a quick example.
Hi ChatGPT, I'm Kristina Stubblefield, co-owner of SOIN Media Group, a marketing and business growth agency based in Southern Indiana. My husband Josh, and I founded the company to help small businesses thrive through strategic marketing and simplified tech solutions with a background in IT and over 20 years of experience, I specialize in making technology approachable and easy to implement, especially for busy business owners who need clear, actionable strategies.
Pretty simple, right?
[00:05:00] This alone helps ChatGPT frame every response through the lens of who you are and what you want. Having that conversation like you're talking to someone and telling them who you are and what you do, it really is that simple.
Let me give you another example. I'll make this up as I go.
Hi, ChatGPT, I'm Jamie. I run Neat Nest, a home organization business based in Atlanta, Georgia. I've been doing this for about six years, and what makes me different is how hands-on and personalized my approach is. I don't just organize, I help families create spaces that feel good and function better.
There's two examples. The first example, I gave more details. I was more detailed about the business [00:06:00] and what we do, but if you're just getting started, you can give it more of an overview of your business, like in example two. That gives ChatGPT better understanding of your brand and your business. It starts writing with context instead of just guessing.
You don't have to write a novel here. As I said, treat it as if you're talking to another person. That really allows you to use your own words and communicate how you normally do. Again, you can start with just a few sentences.
I always kind of refer to this, think about being at a networking event and you're introducing yourself and someone says, so what do you do? This is what you would put there. Now here's the thing, the more you give, the more you share with ChatGPT, the better it will get to [00:07:00] know you. And your business.
The clearer your setup, the better your results. Good input in good input out. That's what I always say.
Now, I had a few clients tell me that this one step changed everything for them. Once they gave ChatGPT, this business intro, the content instantly felt more aligned, more targeted, and more like them.
And you wanna make this even easier that free pre-bake the oven worksheet. Will help you write and save your intro so you can reuse it every time you start a new project or a new chat. This is just the beginning. It's one part of the full pre-baked, the oven method, and it's a step most people skip, but when you do it, everything else [00:08:00] starts to fall into place.
Taking a few minutes to do this now. We'll make everything you create with ChatGPT more accurate, more aligned, and way more effective. If you want better results and less frustration, this is where to start.
In the next session we'll move to the next layer, your services, offers and packages. So ChatGPT knows what you actually do and how you help. Make sure to grab the free guide, and I can't wait to see you in the next session.
